Art Is An Attitude

Bill Buchman, an accomplished artist and teacher at the Longboat Key Center for the Arts, a division of the Ringling College of Art, has a 90-minute CD entitled "Art Is An Attitude". It opens with Bill reading one of his poems while his music plays in the background. The impact is one of delicious time out to learn some new techniques to draw the body. A young, beautiful model flashes on the screen at intervals as most of the camera's time is focused on Bill's hands. He shows how pressure, speed and motion produce powerful and timeless drawings. It is a valuable training tool. Bill demonstrates 25 fundamental drawing techniques and reveals his methods for using Conte crayon, gel pen, ink wash, Sumi brush, soft pastels, watercolor crayons and reed pen. What a treat. If you cannot take his class, do investigate the CD. Find out more at www.billbuchman.com You will be pleased.
